Shopping and Jazz

Well guys, out of total guilt for my Cloverfield ranting, I am writing you today a bland, boring, normal post....

Out of sheer boredom this week, I decided to go see our high school jazz band perform at the mall. I mean, band is ok, but because I play flute (and I'm not "jazzy" enough AS a flute) I can't be in jazz band. And jazz band, well, is so much more fun than regular old band. They play fun music, they joke around, they do all kinds of shows...you get the point.

Anyways, I decided to go to the mall to watch their Christmas performance and, while standing in the crowd (which was convieniently placed in front of Hollister, with all the snobby jr high kids gawking at us instead of asking us to move) with some other kids from school, I was tapped on the shoulder by a bystander.

Now, before I go on, there are two things in this world I am deathly afraid of: jellyfish (completely understandable, right?) and mistletoe. Both of these items contribute to terribly painful childhood memories, moreso the mistletoe and how it was convienently over me and my friend in 2nd grade at my dad's company Christmas party...I didn't quite understand that concept (the whole kissing thing) that early on, so when _____ tried to kiss me, I turned my head sharply and hit the wall...and broke my nose....

Anyways, mistletoe and I don't get along very well, and for the past ten years I have done very well to avoid it. Until the jazz concert...Ok. First off. What mall even PUTS mistletoe up??? Thats ridiculous, I mean truly....and of course, I am the person to get put under it out of the whole crowd...darn this bad luck./

But needless to say, I was standing under the mistletoe with Ryan (my best friend) and he leaned in to give me a peck....and...I was not ready...and....well it was just awkward. Thankfully, nobody's nose was broken...but I was completely mortified. People were laughing at me in the middle of the mall, and Ryan was about to explode from the laughter.

Come to think of it, it was really funny. But that mistletoe fear of mine, yeah...not going away anytime soon. Haha. well that was entertaining, huh? I actually had a lot of new cloverfield stuff to talk about but I figured I'd spare Ben (since he's such a pansy). Anywho, leave comments!

Mistletoe, huh? I never did understand what kissing had to do with a parasitic vine.
Anyway, thank you for the cautionary tale. I'll make it a point to avoid malls for the rest of the holiday season.

Great post, I give it 42 thumbs up!

Wow, that many thumbs up would be, like, 21-42 people, assuming everyone has at least one thumb up.

AND I AM NOT A PANSY! I dunno /how/ many phone conversations it'll take before you understand that!

Oh yeah, I have season 3. I convinced my mom to give it to me early and I'd count it as a Christmas present. My favorite part so far is the commentary for The Man Behind The Curtain. 'Tis good.
