I can't believe it!
After several long, long weeks, the cloverfield site http://www.1-18-08.com/ has finally released a new photo!
And also after several long, long months, I finally figured out that you could flip the pictures OVER to reveal notes on the back of them....okay, so apparantly everyone else in the world knew this back in July and August, but I am now In The Loop, I swear!
So, the picture is of this japanese chef or baker of some sorts holding a tray with some kind of concoction on it...he seems pretty happy (BONZAI!). Anyways, the weird thing about this picture is that unlike all the others, there is no watermarked date on the bottom of the picture. There's nothing on the bottom of the picture. My guess, this was taken either pre or post 1-18-08...maybe post, like it was something this rob character picked up in Japan. Does that mean that he lives through "the attack"? Oh, the questions!
On the back of the picture is a bunch of japanese writing, with random numbers like "10" and "1/2" sprinkled in throughout. I (along with many others) presume it to be the recipe for the "food" in the picture. I did some research, and I think I found a decent translation, but since I am oh so fluent in japanese, I can't be sure if its right. Even if it is, there was nothing out of the ordinary...It was, I dunno, just a recipe.
Anywho, I feel quite proud of myself for this discovery! Like I said, I did some research and finally feel connected to the project once again. So here is my new favorite site devoted to cloverfield. This guy does a video post every week where he discusses the rumours, the truths, and the crazy awesomeness of the movie. Its amazing. Find it at http://www.1-18-08news.com/. One post that caught my eye was for some website called http://www.jamieandteddy.com/ where one character named jamie from the movie is talking about something. I havent watched it yet, but if you go to the site, click the picture of the bears, and then put the password "jllovesth"then click the video link to see it. I'm going to check it out later.
Also look into http://tagruato.jp/ . It is this oil drilling company that has a site opening near new york this month, whose subsidaries include the mysterious slusho org. Feels pretty "HANSO FOUNDATION-ISH" to me..I mean, the organization is fake. Connects with slusho. Creepy website. CONNECTS WITH SLUSHO. I feel its not a fake. Its too involved, and besides, the drilling may be what awakenens the "monster".
Leave some comments on what yall think (my comment box has been increasingly less popular lately...cough cough)lol. I'm pretty excited about it all...maybe I will be able to make it to January after all.

Discovery Learning
(This post was meant to be posted on monday...just so you know)
Well. What can I say about today?
For starters, I must admit that for a monday (the least liked day of the week), today wasn't too horrible. On the contrary, it was extremely funny...in an "oh, i kinda feel sick" way. But I'll get to that in a second.
So, today I had the pleasure of going to take my Senior yearbook picture. Unfortunately, this one photography studio has a contract with our school, so the place I am going to BUY my pictures from isn't the one I actually went to. Anywho, I went in and waited for an hour to take, literally, three pictures....being photogenic, yeah, definately not my strong point. Doing it while grumpy because the mean receptionist in the front office made me wait forever, REALLY not my strongpoint.
Now, to the "feeling kinda sick" part of my day...
As a highly intelligent female, I am taking many advanced and AP courses this year, one of which being AP Environmental Science (or as I like to call it, liberal propaganda hour). Basically, the course is centered around field trips to the zoo, the woods, ect while listening to the teacher yap about "how terrible the human population is", and how "everything we do kills the trees". I mean, the woman talks to birds,
Seriously. You don't even know.
Well, our teacher loves those birds, and decided to create a lab for our class. She came up with disecting owl pellets...Now, in laymans terms, an owl pellet is basically like an owl furball. They eat birds, mice, and other animals whole, the regurgitate the feathers, hair, and skeletons in a pellet. It could have been worst, you know, like disecting a frog (or, for those in anatomyand physiology, a cat), but for kids like me with a weak stomach, the pellet was enough. I spent the whole period scraping black fur-hair-iness off of dead rodent skulls...then went straight to lunch.
Oh yeah, for lunch was broccoli and rice casserole. You know, the one where the broccoli chunks are hidden in the self contained mound of rice...kinda like an owl pellet? If only my poor, sickened mind didn't make that connection....needless to say, i didn't eat.
I guess thats just her way of letting us "discover" new things. I discovered that owl pellets smell. I discovered that having AP Environmental Science before lunch is not a great thing. And I discovered that out of all the possibilities in the world, i ended up with a crazy teacher, a meadow mouse skull, and leftover broccoli casserole.
How lucky am I?

Roller Coasters, Anyone?
So I've decided to categorize today as "a heart pounding, breath catching, emotional roller coaster to end all roller coasters" of a day.
I mean, its good-bad-good-bad-fantastic-mediokre-horrendous-ect.
And thats just first block.
Well, If I can say anything on the subject, I am estatic to be home right now, sitting at the computer, working on homework and blogging about my miniscule life. What more could anybody want? It's just relieving to be away from the pressures of doing things right, of deadlines and work ethic and blah blah blah blah blah. All I need right now is a Diet Coke, my computer, and to breathe.
Hmm...I'm going out on a limb (spelling?) here, but I would say most everyone is more relaxed and comfortable when they are just sittin at home reading their comments on blogspot or checking out facebook. I know I am.

"Oh, The Emmys were Yesterday?"
What a response I've gotten today.
I must admit, I love me some awards shows. As a matter of fact, my friend Lindsay (who I hope to podcast with) and I have Emmy/Oscar parties. Well, kind of. By "parties" I mean we text message all of our thoughts to each other as we watch the shows in the comfort of our own homes. But still, we party it up on Award show nights.
Frankly, we are the only ones.
Apparantly, nobody else in Hallsville watched the Emmys. At All. Nada. Zip. Zilch. Zip-A-Dee-Do-Da-Day....okay. that last one was slightly unnecessary but I thought it was funny. Everytime I would ask somebody about a funny moment or joke or commercial, they all gave me the same answer: "The what were on when? Hm, didn't know that..."
But it's okay. No matter who actually saw them, Everybody I know has already heard the good news, via my blabbering....TERRY O QUINN WON BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR IN A DRAMA SERIES!
Now that's the kind of information that gets you pumped about "Locketober" (ha. Lost Unlocked reference)

Its funny what 3 hours of sleep and competitive debate can do to you
yes. I said three hours of sleep.
Friday night was our first loss of the football season, and even worst, an away game. So what does that mean for the little flute player who is also in debate???
*In talk show host voice*
She wins a fabulous night of restlessness, followed by a 4am wake up call to go to a debate conference! *Audience sound effect here*
Lets just say, waking up at four this morning, I found myself partially delirious and walking around my kitchen singing (and I quote) "I'm stuck on Band Aid brand cause band aid's stuck on ME!"...Dont ask me why.
Anywho, We went to the debate conference today where I was chosen to do a demonstration exhibition round of debate. I thought it went okay...till we saw the observer's sheets with their opinions on the round....
"The debaters should have been better experienced", "I know more than them", and (my personal favorite), "WHAT A WASTE OF TIME!".
Funny thing though, Im not mad. Im actually pretty okay. Maybe it's the sleep deprivation.
Either way, I have to rest up. I have to get my homecoming dress tommorrow. Amazingly enough, I was voted to be a runner for the title of Homecoming Queen!
Sweet Dreams,

...OH I Wanna Take Ya to Bermuda, Bahama....
Come on pretty mama!
Yes, that is the sound of one girl getting pumped about her FIRST CRUISE EVER...courtesy of band. Who would've thought that six years of spitting into an elongated piece of metal could pay off like this???
I'm happy to state that at our meeting tonight, we discussed two possible cruise lines to go on, and ended up choosing the Royal Carribean Cruise to Jamaica and Mexico. It has a rock climbing wall, a miniature golf course, and an ice skating rink ON BOARD; the Carnival ship that they've taken the past 8 years only had swimming pools and a "teen disco".
The downside. It costs over $300 more to go on the bigger cruise. Even worst, we'll be on the sea on Easter Sunday. I don't know how religious some of you are out there, but I am very involved with my religion and let me tell you, my parents are not happy that I am "missing the most sacred Christian holiday to run around on a big boat".
Oh Well. What do they know about having fun?
Anyways, the cost is pretty steep...we're talking in the neighborhood of $1080. And I make minimum wage and only work for two or three days a week. Even if I were to take EVERY CENT of my paychecks till the money is due, I could only cover a portion of the costs. And for all purposes, lets just say that I'm not exactly living the high class lifestyle...my family has 6 people in it and 0 dollars for Cruises, proms, whatever may come up this year.
Its up to me now; All I can do is picture the beaches to encourage my work ethic.

Getting Better
I've been so disoriented lately. I'm just not thinking straight...but hey, what can I do?
I think it's time for me to let go of some things in my life, negative influences and such. I'm just ready to snap back, to laugh and not feel guilty about it. To be happy without the worries of things that are out of my control.
Truthfully, however, I am doing better. I enjoyed the football game on Friday (which we won), went to work on Saturday, and slowly I am getting back to being happy and excited most of the time. I know that I'll be fine. It's just a matter of time.
Well, to help that come along, I've made a list of why concession stand nachos at movie theatres are the spawn of satan....(I had some mighty awful nacho issues yesterday).
10. The chips always get on the floor, which means WE have to sweep up after them.
9. Changing the chili or cheese ALWAYS leads to 3rd degree burns
8. People are never satisfied with the cheese to chip ratio (therefore we have to go back and forth till its absolutely perfect to their taste, which takes a while)
7. Making nachos is a pain...
6. Making nachos then dropping them all over the floor is a bigger pain...
5. Picking up said nachos takes an eternity (refer back to number 10).
4. They are WAY too expensive ($5.95), and people love to remind us of it.
3. Handling nachos lead to being covered in salt...and smelling like a tortilla chip for the rest of the day.
2. The "cheese" tastes like melted yellow plastic
1. Nachos are just straight up gross!
There. That felt better.

Simply Wondering.
I woke up this morning with a heavy heart and an even heavier mind, so this post is not going to be of any happy manner. Be forewarned that the sarcastic banter, the witty analysis, and all other common aspects of my posts are to be discarded for today only. There is something more important to write. All I ask is that you, whoever you may be, will read this and consider it in your thoughts throughout your day.
Yesterday, a friend of mine commited suicide. Unfortunately, he was not the first of my friends to pass away this year. In fact, our high school has lost 8 students in the last year to cruel consequence. To drunk drivers, to common mistakes, and now to their own self judgement. Many, if not all, of these kids were my friends. My classmates. My next door neighbor. All were happy, healthy, strong willed, opinionated, passionate kids who always encouraged me to stand up for what I believed in and (most importantly) for myself.
I sit here telling you this, not for sympathy, but for warning. At a mere 17, 18, 19 years, their lives ended. Im heartbroken at the realization that such vibrant youth, such strong character, can be crushed in so little time, in one tragic moment. I know that death is common, but there is a difference between being common and being overbearingly present in one's life. I guess our whole community is having to struggle with that concept right now...
All I ask of you is that you pray for these kids, these families; theyve been torn apart by fate, their own existence slowly drowning in their own tears of grief. I have had to mature too much over this past year, but yesterday was the breaking point. I have felt pain like many are lucky to never have felt, and still I'm trying to move on and grow, even though a little piece of my heart keeps getting left behind.
Just be careful out there in that cold place they call "The Real World". It has no mercy.

Are You Ready for Some Football????
I am!
Yesterday was the first official football game of the season, and let me tell you, it was amazing.
We had a little guitar hero 2 tournament before the game (in which I dominated), then rode 2 hrs to the game where our team won 17-7. Following that was a victory dinner/breakfast at IHOP at two in the morning. Can you say "best pancakes ever"? I can!
First week of school is over too, meaning that I survived the worst. I've spent my time either working, at school, or chilling at home trying to watch Lost season one.
Speaking of Lost, NEW PODCAST!!WOOTWOOT! It was shorter, but hey, it was still the pickme up that I needed this morning (which also brings me to guitar hero again, I love guitar hero and I'll check out this 'frets of fire' thing this week...).
Ok. I definately thought this post would be a little more exciting, but its definately a borderline ramble, so I'm gonna stop it before it turns into an all out rant,
